Hard-chrome plating

Chromium
Hard chromium is a surface protection that distinguishes itself with the following properties:
  • high degree of hardness (800 – 1100 HV)
  • good wear and tear resistance
  • good corrosion resistance
  • high temperature resistance (up to 400°C)
  • low adhesion tendency
Contrary to bright chrome, hard chrome denotes a significantly thicker chrome coating that can be applied up to a strength of several millimetres on the basic material depending on the application.
Hard chromium plating realises a substantially longer service life of wear and tear parts, thus guaranteeing error-free machine running time.

Hard chromium plating of new parts in our in-house production facilities (raw material -> machining -> cylindrical grinding -> hard chromium plating -> belt finish) is our strength.
Our services include corrosion-resistant, microcrack hard chromium plating of piston rods and pipes in a dimension range from 20-100 mm diameter and lengths from 5,000 to 6,800 mm.
Small and large series can be processed in batch sizes of 500 m up to 50.000 m/a in layer strengths from 20 to 40 µm.
